Pro-life, anti-women

Is it possible to be pro-life and pro-women?  I don't think it can be reconciled.

Just been reading some stuff by Youth Defence and I can't believe their attitude towards women who 'didn't take proper precautions'.  If it really is about self-blame and precautions, then what should we do with all the smoking or passive-smoking cancer victims, or the cirrhosis riddled former teenage ex-binge drinker?

These right wing mentals are even sympathetic to those of have likened abortion to the Jewish holocaust.

When women are rising against women in this manner, my fear rises 10-fold for my daughters.

The finer things in life would be wasted on the poor.

Oh, really?

Why is it that some members of the privileged classes refuse to admit that they enjoy and deserve the very best of everything?  This is the truth of it – they think they deserve it, they think they are superior to all poor people and that’s why the system that protects the ruling classes (major example, of course, being private schools) should stay – otherwise how could they continue to dominate Oxbridge and top jobs?  What would happen if equality of opportunity held true and the majority of Oxbridge students were working class - which is the statistical need?  How would these superior fools then remain, in fact, superior?  Because SURELY we all accept that the rich are NOT more intelligent than the poor – this is what scares them so much – the idea that if we have true equality of opportunity - all of a sudden they’re proven to be as average as the next person.  Average… AVERAGE?!  Horror of all horrors.

I was asked by a retired lawyer and his ridiculous smarmy-sh*t friend last night what I would do with my daughters if the local school was crap.  I said that I have more faith in them not to fall spectacularly apart should they meet someone-of-the-lower-classes….  This is what terrifies them so much – the idea that they’re superiority might be tainted by this mix – they’ll be brought down simply by association.  What are we now, a Caste system?  The untouchables must be ghettoised in schools to the East, the rich to the West – and it has to stay that way.  Of course it has to stay that way – otherwise the rich will be outed – true colours, and all that – and that’s what scares them the most – how completely sad to be so frightened of Other Human Beings succeeding my merit rather than handed to them on a plate.  I'm still referring to education, by the way.

My babies will do very well having NOT had their arses wiped all their lives and learning in historical buildings with excellent teachers and not a social problem in sight, thanks very much.  And they’ll still know how lucky they are, but want they will not feel is superior - because no one is - we are all the same regardless of bank balances.

It's fun when the rats start eating the rats, don't you think?

Andy Coulson - please, for us all, take down David Cameron with you.  Or has even he, your BFF, abandoned your sinking ship?

Mladić, M'Lud

Ratko Mladić, former Serbian maniac warlord, was arrested recently after 16 years in hiding and I don’t feel sorry for him.. unlike how I felt when Saddam Hussain was dragged out of a hole in the ground and taunted on his way to the gallows, and of course most recently, Bin Laden’s Hollywood-style cowboy show down.  But why didn't you feel anything but hatred and joy on these sickos’ arrest and state murder, KB?  Because they were ridiculed and then lied about.  There’s nothing worse than people taking pleasure in the humiliation of others – no matter who they are or what they’ve done – it cheapens the wannabe victors and makes those who believe in human rights and dignity feel bad for the mass murdering warlord bastard in question.

The way Ratko Mladić was treated en route to The Hague was correct – with respect, slowly (on account of his body seemingly 120 years old – decrepit beyond his years) and without a hint of humiliation.  He will be tried in The Hague and what will follow, will follow.  No bullshit.  No hysterical military manoeuvres.  No lies, and lies, and lies following in an attempt to appear magnanimous.  No cowboy talk, just an arrest of a serious criminal followed by procedural justice.

What a refreshing change.

Holier than Thou

We have probably all known for some time - it was Ryan Giggs' penis in the wrong place leading to a super injunction, followed by being outed - most recently in Parliament yesterday, that's been at the centre of a strange barely anonymous media storm.  Many people are saying how little they care about who is shagging who and why must we bang on about it.

I say OUT THEM for what they really are - true colours, and all that - nothing more satisfying when these creatures parade themselves about accepting gongs such as "BBC Sports Personality of the Year" (Beckham, Giggs, Sweet Michael Owen - due to be the next victim, I hear..), gaining the auspicious OBE (Beckham, Giggs...) and then being caught with their Y-Fronts around their ankles - excellent!  I know, I know - takes two to tango (not to mention a bitch-wife to add to the Poor Man's Trauma) - but as far as I recall Rebecca Loos and Imogen Thomas were single women at the time of their shags - hardly their problem, really.  These evil women ruining men's careers left, right & centre - how do they live with themselves with their shimmering thighs and dirty promises.

If you think people who shamelessly use the media and their position to gain national awards and international respect among colleagues, then bar the media for reporting their hideousness while playing the devoted husband and father - email the guys who can revoke the award:

Wars and Other Media

Are thoughts and feelings regarding conflict from soldiers and their families part of the Official Secrets Act so that the MoD can construct media responses using blatant propaganda?

Porn and Kids

There's been quite a lot of research done recently looking at teenagers and their views on sex and relationships, and while the majority of teens have healthy relations there's a small but significant rise in violence and humiliation and research has been testing whether there's a link to hard core porn.  I think so - I can't see how there can't be.

Not so long ago it was really difficult for young people to view soft porn - now children as young as 10 are accessing the hard stuff on who know what kind of basis.  This material is shocking to most adults and is framing the references of young people - people who are undeveloped themselves growing up with these images and ideas about what sex is.

There was a study done a few years ago on boys' attitudes to girls - many admitted they didn't know girls had pubic hair, breasts that weren't enormous and round and identical etc and so on.  They were shown pictures of real breasts and couldn't believe what they looked like.  This isn't harmless - it's humiliating for girls and as a result many want a boob job for their 16th birthday - there must be a connection, why else would they consider it.

As a parent I'm always considering what I will tell my daughter about life, and when.  It's a hard idea to get to grips with when I want her to understand about porn from me rather than her peers to avoid any confusion.

How do you start that conversation?
